Solvent transfer equipment and pumps is an integral part of the biopharmaceutical industry. Ones of the simplest to use are peristaltic pumps, that have no direct contact with the solvent.  Depending on the configuration, these pumps can be equipped with analogue controller for solvent pumping at the exact required speed. Or they can be digital, calibrated, with functionality of setting precise pumping speed and dosing. One of peristaltic pumps' disadvantages is a relatively high pulsation. In order to reduce it the solvent is pumped through two parallel hose lines, this way reducing the stroke volume, or pulsation. In the processes, where this solution is not sufficient, Quattroflow quaternary diaphragm low-pulsation pumps are used. The pumps can generate a speed of up to 20,000 L/h and are fully automated and validated, if needed. Quattroflow pumps are designed to serve as a part or main component in tangential flow filtration, chromatography or general filtration.
